A quorum of the Town Council members may be in attendance on Sunday, February 18th, 2018 for a forum of candidates for the upcoming municipal election.

ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. This is NOT the regularly scheduled meeting of the Town Council but this notice is being posted in compliance with the New Mexico Open Meetings Act. As a governing body, the Town Council will not deliberate, take any formal action on any items discussed, nor will there be official Town meeting minutes of this gathering.

Dear Members of the Mountainair Community,

I would like to take a moment to share our grief over the tragic fire on Broadway.  The irreplaceable loss from this fire will live in our hearts for many years to come.

I also want to assure you that the fire and recent spike in crimes are being thoroughly investigated by our Police, County, State and Federal agencies. These other agencies have more resources and expertise in some of these matters and we are working closely with them to make sure your safety is our main concern.

The NM State Fire Marshall’s Office and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) are still investigating the fire and we will report to you as soon as we receive any updates.

In the meantime, we know many of you have questions so I will be taking appointments at the following times to meet with you to answer them. These will be one-on-one or small group meetings to facilitate frank discussion.

Tuesday, December 27th: 9am – 11am
Wednesday, December 28th: 1pm – 3pm
Thursday, December 29th: 5pm – 6pm.

Please call Town Clerk Dennis Fulfer at City Hall at 847-2321 or his cell at 705-0099 to set an appointment if you wish to meet with me. 

Our next Town Council Meeting will be held Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017, at 5:00pm, tentatively at the Council Meeting Room.
