Cost of Providing Records

As permitted by the Inspection of Public Records Act, Procedure for Inspection 14-2-9 (NMSA 1978), the Town of Mountainair will charge for copying records in accordance with the fee schedule published by the Custodian. If the estimated cost exceeds ten dollars ($10), the Custodian should provide an estimate of the charges and shall require advance payment before making copies. 

As of July 1st, 2022, the fees are as follows:

• $1 per page of any printed documents.

Charges for electronic records are based on the actual cost associated with downloading copies, plus the cost of the storage device:

• $1 per page (in excess of 20 pages) to a computer disk, thumb drive or other storage device; plus
• Actual cost of a FACTORY PACKAGED storage device.  This fee may be waived if requestor brings their own FACTORY PACKAGED AND SEALED storage device.
• Any postage or other costs associated with transmission of copies will be charged to the requestor:
